Improving Birth Rally is coming this Labor Day

On Monday September 2nd we will be taking part in the 2nd annual Rally to Improve Birth, spearheaded by the organization ImprovingBirth.org. Improving Birth stands for bringing positive changes to maternity care in America by the use of evidence based care practices.

We support this movement heartily as we know that America has the highest first-day infant death rate out of all the industrialized countries in the world. As frightening as this fact is it is also astounding to know that the U.S. spends more than any other developed country in health care dollars per capita. In essence we spend the most but have some of the worst outcomes compared to the rest of the industrialized world.

Our maternity care system is a paradox, and many organizations are rising up and trying to create change. ImprovingBirth.org is one of these organizations. One of the ways they aim to increase awareness of simple changes that can be made is by holding this informational rally in cities all over the US on Labor Day.

Visalia Birth Network is honored to be involved in this movement to create better outcomes for moms and babies, and we hope to see you this Labor Day!
